Marie was born December 29, 1917 at rural Regan, ND the daughter to Lewis J. & Anna (Ciemerowske) King. She was raised on her parents farm south of Regan and attended grade school in rural Burleigh County. Her father passed away in December 1957 and Marie and her mother continued to live on the farm until moving to Wilton in the fall of 1975. She cared for her mother until her death in September 1978. Marie then became employed as a cook for the Wilton Senior Center. She enjoyed baking for the members of the Senior Center and was always willing to try new recipes. Marie also assisted in the care of Anastacia Krush and became a very close friend of the Krush family. She moved to the Harley & Agnes Jennings farm in October 1999. Marie considered the Jennings family her own family, and was very appreciative of the care they provided her. She developed a special relationship with Agnes Jennings granddaughter, Madelyn Jennings. Marie entered the Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood on Sept. 1, 2006. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Wilton and an active member of the Catholic Daughters, the Sacred Heart Altar Society, and the Wilton Senior Center. She is remembered for her love of animals, especially kittens and birds.
She is survived by her special friends, Frances Krush of Wilton, and the Agnes Jennings family of rural Washburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
