Margaret L. Boots, 86, Underwood, ND died May 22, 2015 under Palliative Care at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND . Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church, Underwood, ND. Officiating will be Fr. Patrick Cunningham. Interment will be held in the Coleharbor Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
Margaret was born to Raymond and Viola (Gudmunson) Huettl on August 27, 1928 in Garrison, ND. She attended St. Nicholas Catholic School and graduated from Garrison High School. After high school, she worked for Farmers Union in Garrison. Margaret married the love of her life, Clayton Boots in Garrison on October 8, 1950. Their special bond was evident throughout their many years of marriage. Clayton and Margaret made their home in Coleharbor until moving to Underwood in 2000.
Margaret enjoyed many things, such as bowling, quilting with friends and golfing which she took up later in life. She loved sharing her knitting and embroidery with family and friends. She also had a passion for playing cards, even if it wasn't for money!
Margaret was an active member of St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church and served in many capacities including; teaching CCD, Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan. She also took care of arranging flowers and caring for the candles on the altar. Margaret held many positions on the St. Bonaventure Altar Society. Clayton and Margaret always looked forward to the St. Bonaventure chicken dinner as "ticket takers".
Margaret is survived by her children: Myron (Sandy), Houston, TX, ValaRae (Ken) Kasbohm, Irvine, CA, Tim (Nanette), Bismarck, ND, Gail (Rick) Olson, Underwood, ND and Sue (Dan) Swanson, Bowman, ND; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a brother: Myron Huettl of Fargo, ND and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clayton; her parents, Raymond and Viola; granddaughter, Ashley Swanson; sister, Francis Currie.
