Marcy Goven, age 57 of Turtle Lake, ND, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at a Bismarck hospital.

Visitation: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake;
Saturday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.
Marcella "Marcy" was born March 24, 1951 near Wishek, ND to Anton & Christina (Gross) Vetter. She attended grade school in Wishek. At the age of 11, her father passed away from a tragic tractor accident. She then moved with her family to Napoleon, ND where she completed high school. Following high school, Marcy enrolled at a beautician school in Jamestown. She returned to Napoleon where she worked as a beautician for a few years. Marcy married Gene Goven of Turtle Lake on October 20, 1973 in Napoleon. They made their home on a farm north of Turtle Lake where Marcy assisted with farm duties and worked out of her home as a beautician. She was an active member of the "Women of Today", "Red Hat Society", and the "Turtle Lake Study Club". Marcy was also a former member of the "Jayceettes" and served as a 4-H Leader for many years. She was a member of the St. Catherine's Catholic Church of Turtle Lake and served with the Altar Society.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Goven of Turtle Lake; one son, Matthew (Jess) Goven of Gillette, WY; three daughters, Jessica (Travis) Gladson of Gillette, WY, Yvonne (Scott) Hyland of Kingsville, TX, & Kayla Goven of Turtle Lake; eight grandchildren, Justin, Tanner, Kasey, Kamryn, Ashlyn, Kylee, Reid, & Sean; four brothers, Alois (Mary Ann) Vetter of West Fargo, Richard Vetter of West Fargo, Martin (Eileen) Vetter of Napoleon, & Joe T. (Geneva) Vetter of Bismarck; four sisters, Irene (Joe) Kuhn of Napoleon, Lorraine (Joe) Aberle of Wishek, Christine Bitz of Bismarck, Barbara (Jim) Volochenko of Balfour, ND; two sisters-in-law, Ellen Vetter of Wishek, & Bernice Vetter of Wishek; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers (Mathias & Tony).
