Marcella Aldinger, age 86 of Bismarck, formerly of Coleharbor, ND, died August 31, 2012 at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, Sept. 4th, at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church in Underwood with Rev. Frank Schuster as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Coleharbor Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
Marcella was born September 18, 1925 in Elbowoods (McLean Co.), ND to Maurice & Clara (Hall) Danks. She was baptized in 1936 at St. Anthony's Church in Elbowoods. Marcella was raised and attended school in Elbowoods. She married Otto Aldinger on Dec. 3, 1947 in Washburn. Marcella and Otto made their home in Coleharbor and raised eight children. The family enjoyed many family picnics, loved to go fishing, and made tons of pickles and deer sausage. Marcella was a member of the Three Affiliated Tribes. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and listening to country music. Following the death of Otto in 1992, she traveled with her sister Fern Greff to many locations. She moved back and forth from Bismarck to Minot and returned to Underwood where she enjoyed eating meals and playing cards at the Underwood Senior Center. Due to her failing health, she moved to the Terrace in Bismarck and finally to the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Violet & Frank Heinz, Marcy Seibold, both of Bismarck, Arlene Malnourie of Underwood, and Dan Caswell of Minot; four sons and three daughters-in-law, John & Pat Aldinger of Rogers, MN, Otto & Debbie Aldinger of Underwood, Artie Aldinger of Underwood, and David & Sue Aldinger of Coleharbor; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jim Danks of Killdeer, Maurice (Cynthia) Danks, John (Theresa) Danks, Edward "Solly" (Georgiana) Danks, all of New Town; one sister, Fern Greff of Garrison; one brother-in-law, Lawrence (Naomi) Aldinger of Bismarck; five sisters-in-law, Helen Landenburger of Lakewood, CO, Elsie Aldinger of Westminster, CO, Helen Mae Aldinger of Boise, ID, & Elsie Danks of Ryder; and many nieces & nephews.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Otto), one daughter (Laurice Caswell in 2011), one infant great grandson (Cody), two sisters, two brothers, many brothers & sisters-in-law, nephews, and one niece.
Memorials are preferred to the Coleharbor Cemetery Fund (884 31st Ave. NW, Coleharbor, ND 58531) or St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church (505 Grant Ave., Underwood, ND 58576).
