Mae Marie (McCray) Johnson, age 34 of Delton, MI, formerly of Coleharbor, ND,
passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Battle Creek Health System.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 10 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Riverdale, ND.

Interment will be in Coleharbor Cemetery, Coleharbor, ND.

Mae was born September 20, 1973 in Minot, ND the daughter of Alvin A. McCray and Joyce Marie (Korner) McCray. Mae graduated from Underwood High School in 1992. She moved to Battle Creek, MI in 2001 from Oklahoma and formerly of North Dakota. Mae had worked for the Battle Creek City in the City Clerk's office for three years and previously worked for the city water department. She enjoyed dancing, going shopping occasionally, and singing Karaoke. She enjoyed traveling to casinos and attending sporting events with her children and was a "Great Mom." She loved spending special times and all her talks with her "precious Battle Creek family" at City Hall. She was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church (Coleharbor) where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was a member SEIU union from Battle Creek City. "God had borrowed us one of His angels, and has now called for her return to her Heavenly Home."

She is survived by her parents: Alvin A. and Joyce Marie McCray of Coleharbor, ND;
the love of her life: Dale C. Lester of Delton, MI; three sons: Jonathan Berdhal, Nathanial Johnson and Zachary Johnson all of Delton, MI; her sister: Sabrina E. McCray and William T. Kelley, Jr. of New Bern, NC; her brother: Joshua J. McCray of Moorhead, MN: two grandmothers: Esther Mae McCray of Coleharbor, ND and Marcella Korner of Valley City, ND; six uncles and eight aunts and numerous cousins surviving. She was previously married to Alan Johnson.

A service to commemorate Mae Johnson's life was held 10:30 AM Saturday, June 7 at the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Pastor James L. Sparks officiating.
