Luella "Lu" Burrowes, age 81 of Underwood, ND died Friday, December 14th, 2012 at a Bismarck hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, Dec. 18th at Augustana Lutheran Church in Underwood with Pastor Anna Haugen officiating.

Interment will follow in the Underwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at Goetz Funeral Home in Underwood.

Lu was born on June 16, 1931 in Washburn, ND to Reinhold and Helen (Johnson) Goehring. She married William (Bill) Burrowes on January 21, 1950. Lu worked at the Park Inn Café for many years until she took a position at the Underwood Public School as a cafeteria cook. She loved her job at the school. She enjoyed being around children and being able provide them a good meal. She was active in many different activities within Augustana Lutheran Church and was an active member of the local Senior Citizen Center.

Lu is survived by her three children Mike (Faith) Burrowes of Billings MT, Kevin Burrowes of Billings MT, & Sandra (Jim) Peterson of Washburn; daughter-in-law, Kris Burrowes of Stanton; two sisters, Gladys Freidig of Bismarck, & Janice Blegen of Minneapolis, MN; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (William "Bill"), one son (Terry), one brother (Quentin), one sister (Wanda), and one grandchild.
