Lowell F. Rutter, 71, of Turtle Lake, ND died October 30, 2015 in the Community Memorial Hospital, Turtle Lake. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Turtle Lake United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Cory Thrall. Interment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery with military rites provided by the Turtle Lake American Legion Post #133. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

Lowell was born March 24, 1944 in Turtle Lake the son of Franklin and Olive (Isaacson) Rutter. He was raised and educated in Turtle Lake. He graduated from the Turtle Lake High School and also attended the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. Lowell entered the US Army in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1971. Following his discharged he returned to Turtle Lake, where he farmed and did construction work. Lowell was married to RaeLynn Tetzlaff.

Lowell enjoyed attending auction sales and flea markets. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking. He would often share his baked goods with family and friends.

Lowell is survived by his brother, Wallace A. (Thommie) Rutter of Grafton, ND and his sister, Shirley Rutter of Bismarck, ND; a nephew, Wallace A. Rutter Jr. of Grafton; a niece, Mary (Jeff) Curtis of Barien, WA; a great niece Vanessa Curtis; a aunt and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife RaeLynn and a brother Kenneth.
