Lorraine Clausen, 85, Wilton, ND peacefully joined her loved ones in heaven surrounded by her family on April 25, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 29, 2019 at Sunne Lutheran Church, rural Wilton with Pastor Paul Schauer officiating. Interment will be held in Riverview Cemetery, Wilton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday also at the church.
Lorraine was born January 25, 1934 in Wilton the daughter of Lloyd and Edith (Stenquist) Maynard. She married John Clausen on April 15, 1950 in Helena, MT. They moved to Wilton in 1954 where they raised their five children. Lorraine was famous for her fried chicken, pickles, pickle dip and her macaroni salad. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, reading and most of all spending time with her family. Lorraine was always joyful to be able to care for her grandchildren and was a loving inspiration of kindness, strength and endurance.
She was always giving back to the community of Wilton. She co-founded the Wilton Ambulance Service and served as an EMT for many years. Lorraine served on the Wilton district fire department board for 36 years.
Left to celebrate her life are her children, Linda (Bruce) Sampson, Stanton, ND, Cindy (Paul) Bartholomew, Susan Fred (Darin Soland), John (Kathy) Clausen, Scott (Lynette) Clausen all of Wilton; her 13 grandchildren; her 17 great grandchildren and three sisters-in-law, Dora Maynard, Pat Clausen and Meta Maynard and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Wilton Ambulance and Fire Departments.
