Lorine B. Lutz, 94, of Bismarck, North Dakota (formerly of Underwood, North Dakota), passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 16, 2025 at the Baptist Health and Rehab, Bismarck North Dakota, with family by her side.

Lorine Berreth was born March 17, 1930 to Edward and Christina (Munsch) Berreth near Artas, South Dakota. She attended rural grade school and graduated from Eureka High School in Eureka, South Dakota in 1947. Following graduation, she received her teaching certificate from Northern College in Aberdeen, SD and taught school in the Artas, SD area for several years.

Lorine married Harold Lutz of Greenway, South Dakota on October 24, 1950. Following Harold's discharge from the army in November of 1952, the couple moved to Chicago, IL where Harold attended Electrical School. Following his graduation, the couple moved to Underwood, ND. They resided there until 2010 when they moved to Waterford (now Touchmark) in Bismarck, North Dakota. In January of 2022, Lorine became a resident of the Baptist Health and Rehab, also in Bismarck.

Lorine was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Underwood, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and a member of the Ladies Group. Lorine's Christian faith and devotion to God and family were very important to her. She attended church faithfully and had attended morning services the day she passed away.

Lorine always had a big garden and loved to grow flowers. She was an excellent cook and baker. Her freezer was always stocked with pies, and the family especially looked forward to her cinnamon twists whenever they visited. Lorine enjoyed crocheting doilies and afghans and lovingly sewed quilts and doll clothes for her grandchildren.

Lorine took up the tradition Harold had followed by always having candy stocked for the great grandchildren when they came to visit. Lorine also kept track of family members' birthdays and enjoyed picking out cards and adding personal notes to each.

Lorine is survived by four children: Wayne (Susan) Lutz, Eureka, SD, Wesley (Teri) Lutz, Ottertail, MN, Renee (Art) Bretches, Ephrata, WA, and Rod Lutz, Ephrata, WA; six grandchildren: Alisha (Fredrick) Wohl, Nathaniel (Kristin) Lutz, Jordan (Deena) Lutz, Adam (Emily) Lutz, Ally (Nash) Bettenhausen and Amanda Lutz; and six great grandchildren: Annabelle, Brady and Calista Wohl, Sophia and Lexi Lutz, and Graham Bettenhausen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Edwin, Albert, Alvin, Edward, Benjamin and Milbert and sisters Ida Hatch and Edna Johnson.

Services will be held Monday, February 24, 2025 at Bismarck Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with visitation starting one hour before service time. Reverend Rod Poppinga will be the officiant. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND,

with fellowship following at the church. The funeral service will be live streamed on the Goetz Funeral Home site on Lorine's obituary site.
