Loranna M. Bauer, age 53 of Velva, ND passed away Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 17th at Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva, ND with Pastor Mary Miska officiating.

Interment will be in the Velva City Cemetery

Visitation will be held from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Oak Valley Lutheran Church and will continue Saturday, one hour prior to time of funeral service.

Loranna was born October 18, 1956 in Turtle Lake, ND to Ervin & Marie (Jans) Jacobson. She attended school in Mercer, ND. Loranna married Wayne L. Bauer on Feb. 26, 1971 in Selby, SD. Loranna and Wayne lived in Bismarck, Minot, and other small communities in North Dakota before making their home near Velva in 2003. She loved children and provided in-home daycare for many years in several communities. She enjoyed spending time with her family and adored her ten grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting people around a campfire, dancing, riding motorcycle, and giving advice. Loranna will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Bauer of Velva; three children, Gary Bauer of Mobile, AL, Judy (Ken) Peterson of Velva, and Rick (Kerri) Bauer of Velva; ten grandchildren, Sierra, Bailey, Dakota, Ashlee, Kortnee, McKenzie, Shelby, Cheyan, Destiny, & Brianna; her mother, Marie Jacobson of Mercer, ND; six brothers and sisters, Ervin (Sandy) Jacobson of Mandan, Jim (Shonda) Jacobson of Springtown, TX, Jeff (Tammy) Jacobson of Lincoln, ND, Sharon (Chuck) Kaiser of Lincoln, ND, Bryan (Tia) Jacobson of Liberty, MO, & DeAnn (Shannon) Hollenbeck of Mercer, ND; and many nieces & nephews.

Loranna was preceded in death by her father (Ervin).
