Lois E. Sheldon, age 89 of Fargo, ND died December 20, 2007 at Bethany Homes, Fargo, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Interment: 3:00 PM Saturday, June 21 at Riverview Cemetery – Washburn.
Lois Ellen Jefferis was born on May 5, 1918 in Velva, ND, to Fred & Sarah "Katie" Katherine (Fife) Jefferis. She graduated from Washburn High School and entered Minot State College, where she attended one year before transferring to NDAC (NDSU) in Fargo. She graduated in 1941 and started teaching in the Glyndon (MN) High School in the Home Economics Department. She taught for one year and then married Donald L. Sheldon on Sept. 20, 1942 at the United Methodist Church in Washburn. Lois worked at Buttrey's Clothing Store and at the Fargo Forum. She taught for two years in Portland, ND. Lois was an active volunteer in the VA Hospital Pharmacy in Fargo for many years. She received the J.C. Penney Golden Rule Award for volunteering in 1996. She cleaned stuffed animals for the American Legion Toy Project as well. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and Scrabble.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Fargo; children, Judith Ann "Jan" Hatfield of Edmonton, Alberta, Jeffrey Donald (Dorothy) Sheldon of Regent, ND, Donna Louise Sheldon of Fargo; son-in-law, Stephen McLean of Oakes, ND; 8 grandchildren;
11 great grandchildren; siblings, Allagene (Walter) Mason of Bozeman, MT, & Frederick (Donna) Jefferis of San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter (Susan Jane McLean), & granddaughter (Jaqueline Sheldon).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of Red River Valley.
