Lloyd Leidholm, age 75 of Washburn, ND, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at a Bismarck hospital.

Military Rites provided by the American Legion Victor B. Wallin Post #12.

Visitation: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home – Washburn;
Monday, 1 hour prior to time of service at the church.

Lloyd Maurice Leidholm was born January 28, 1933 at rural Washburn, ND the son of Victor & Ella (Holznagel) Leidholm. He was baptized and confirmed at Birka Lutheran Church where he has been a faithful life-long member. Lloyd attended rural school in the Birka area and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953. He served in Korea during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on Jan. 27, 1955. Lloyd returned to the Washburn area and started his career as a carpenter. He established himself as a well-known and respected carpenter through his working career. Lloyd married Mildred Mantz on June 19, 1971 in Center, ND. They made their home in Washburn and shared nearly 37 years together. Lloyd was a lifetime member of the Washburn Fire Department and served as Fire Chief for several years. He was a fifty- year member of the American Legion Victor B. Wallin Post #12 and served on the Birka Lutheran Church council for many years. Lloyd enjoyed camping, hunting, listening to bluegrass music, and attending the Norsk Hostfest every year. He also enjoyed meeting with the "after-church" breakfast group and the daily coffee group. Lloyd enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and shared a special bond with his grandson Justin Lester and his son-in-law, Mike Lester. Lloyd is remembered for his willingness to help people. In keeping with his generous spirit, his final act was to give the gift of life through organ & tissue donation.

He is survived by wife, Millie Leidholm of Washburn, ND; four step-children, Barbara (Greg) Kuntz of Bismarck, ND, LaMont (Marcia) Lind of Okanogan, WA, Tracy (Bruce) Hickman of Evangeline, LA, Shelly (Michael) Lester of Washburn, ND;
eight grandchildren & seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mildred (Val) Jahner of Mott, ND; one brother, Roy (Eva) Leidholm of Washburn, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and one brother (Chester).
