Obituary

Linda L. Herman, age 62 of Washburn, ND, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at her residence.

Linda was born July 13, 1945 at Rugby, ND, the daughter to Edger & Amelia (Schapp) Herman. She attended country school in Bantry, ND and later in Denby, ND. Linda married Kermit Sandberg in 1962 and from this union, two children (Ken & Kerby) were born. In 1969, she married Kenneth Otto and from this union a daughter (Debbie) was born. Linda was united in marriage to Nathan Bostow in April 1978. She then gave birth to a daughter (Nicole) and son (Vince). Linda divorced and moved to Washburn in 1986. She has resided in her apartment in Washburn for the last 21 years. Linda owned and operated "The Hitching Post" bar in Benedict, ND for several years. She was employed as a waitress and bartender at several lounges/restaurants in the area. She most recently worked at the Dakota Farms Restaurant in Washburn and enjoyed visiting with the early morning coffee group. Linda enjoyed baking holiday treats, and is remembered for her special cakes. She also enjoyed collecting knick-knacks, piecing puzzles, and computer games. Linda especially loved receiving photos of her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by: son, Kerby Sandberg of Washburn, ND, son, Ken (Karmen) Sandberg of Bismarck, ND, daughter, Debbie (Jason) Hartung of Sawyer, ND,
daughter, Nicole (Carey Gieser) Folden of Garrison, ND, son, Vince (Heather) Bostow of Max, ND; 13 grandchildren, Ryne, Zach, Elizabeth, Brandon, Crystal, Nita, Dylan, Hannah Sandberg, Becky (Pat) Wentzel, Andrew & Amanda Skadsem, Skyla Folden, & Dawson Bostow; 2 great grandchildren, Zoey & Emma Wentzel;
3 sisters, Carol (Dale) Getzlaff of Minot, ND, Phyllis Johnson of Minot, ND, & Lorna Lueck of Towner, ND; & many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, & son-in-law (Kevin Folden).
