Lillian "Lil" A. Britton, 75, Turtle Lake, ND died June 7, 2023 at St. Alexius Health, Bismarck, ND.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Turtle Lake with Pastor Steve Vetter officiating.  Interment will be held in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM on Monday at the church.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Lil was born May 3, 1948 in Bismarck, ND the daughter of Roy and Mildred (Ysen) Swendsen.  She attended school in McClusky where she graduated from high school in 1966.  She also attended Bismarck Junior College.  She moved to Turtle Lake where she worked for Dr. Kuplis.  Lil married Richard "Dick" Britton in 1970 and to this union three children were born, Rick, Jolene and Tim.  She was a very active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church where she served in many capacities and was a member of WELCA.

She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, sewing and travelling with Dick.  She will always be remembered for her chocolate chip cookies and her love for her grandchildren.  Lil was very proud of her grandchildren, it is they who especially miss her.  Their individuality was so very special to her.  Her unconditional love and encouragement will be a lasting gift.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Becca) of Turtle Lake, Jolene (Craig Reindel) of Bowman and Tim (Jill) of Turtle Lake; her grandchildren, Austin, Luke, Sienna, Emily, Lizzy, Elliott, Gretchen, Josh and Ryder; her sisters, Sandy and Ralph Fischer of Wing, ND, Jeanie Manolovitz of Casper, WY and Karla and Chuck Wester of Colorado Springs, CO; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim (Joanne) Britton of Turtle Lake and Roger (Joni) Britton of Underwood, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Lil is also survived by some special family friends, Jason and Kara Reiser and their children, Jaden, Kassidy and Kadence as well as, Tanner and Kylee Larson and their daughter, Laramie.

Lil was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in February of 2023; her brother, Harlan Swendsen; her brother-in-law, Bill Manolovitz and a nephew, Michael Fischer.
