Obituary

Leona E. Long, 93, of Washburn, formerly of Moses Lake, Washington, died Monday February 19, 2007 at a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held in Moses Lake later in March and burial will be at Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Moses Lake.

Leona was born November 17, 1913 in Ranchester, Wyoming to James and Pansy (Jester) Reynolds. She was the 3rd of 8 children and went to school and grew up in Norman, OK.
Leona married Thomas M. Long on January 28, 1939 in Norman, Oklahoma. They lived in many places over the years as Tom was a dragline operator and followed the construction jobs. They settled in Moses Lake in 1949 where Leona resided until this past September when she came to live with her daughter, Annie Gruenberg in Washburn.
Leona was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Moses Lake for well over 50 years. She enjoyed gardening and making her home an inviting place to be. She was blessed with a loving family and many dear friends.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Carol (John) Thorn, Moses Lake, WA, Marilynn (Tim) Hansen, Moses Lake, WA, and Annie (Larry) Gruenberg, Washburn, ND,
10 grandchildren, Tom (Nancy) Thorn of Moses Lake, Jim (Mary) Thorn of Moses Lake, Mac (Lori) Thorn of Moses Lake, Nathan and Steven Hansen of Seattle, WA, Pam Adkins of Gresham, OR, Tomisue (Levi) Beckman of Mandan, Jason Walker of Washburn, Shannon Lynch of Bismarck and Erin (Jeff) Weaver of Bremerton, WA,
16 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband and all her brothers and sisters.
