Obituary

Leo C. Anderson, 80, of Underwood, North Dakota, passed away on May 25, 2025, at his home in Underwood after a two-year battle with cancer. He fought the battle with dignity and courage Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church, Underwood, ND.  Burial will be in the Underwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 7pm on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the church.  There will be a time of sharing at 7pm.  The funeral service will be livestreamed at the bottom of Leo's obituary. Leo was born November 6, 1944, to Evelyn and Ted Anderson. He attended school in Underwood and graduated in 1964. He then attended Wahpeton College for a plumbing, pipefitting, and welding degree. In 1966 he was drafted into the United States Army and becoming a Vietnam Veteran in 1968.

On September 27, 1969, Leo married Kathy Berg. They made their home in Underwood where Leo worked for Falkirk Mine. He retired in 2012. During retirement Leo and Kathy enjoyed spending many winters in Arizona until he was diagnosed with cancer.

Leo loved car races, snowmobiling, golfing, traveling, and fixing things, which he was so good at. He was a proud father to Steve and Cortney and a blessed grandfather to Garrett, Gunnar, Gracie, Lexus and Berlyn.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years; his sons, Steve (Nicki) Cortney (Carly); grandchildren, Garrett. Gunnar, Gracie, Lexus and Berlyn; sisters-in-law, Kathie, Bobbi and Carol Anderson, Marcia Blotske and Ellen Berg; nieces, Linda, Beverly, Barb, KathyAnn, Diane, and Lisa and many other nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Leo and many wonderful friends.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dwaine, Blaine, Jim, Bob and Dennis; sisters, Donna Mindh and Verdjie Emineth; niece, Susan Ambrose; nephews, Mike Brown and Wayne Anderson; in-laws, Marion and Emil Berg, Steve and Sheldon Berg, Mike and Denise Berg, Julie and Eugene Love, Dale Blotske, and special aunt Sister Mary William.

Leo will be remembered by his love for his family, kindness and generosity towards others and his beloved "Judge" and "Chevy" Pickup.

Rest in Peace Leo, no more suffering, God has you now.
