Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, ND on Friday November 3, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held at the Turtle Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. A luncheon will be served following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
Lee "Chuck" was born on January 16, 1952 to Lee and Viola (Bauer) Reiser and was raised on the family farm south of Turtle Lake. After graduating from high school, he attended college at Minot State University and started his dedicated career working for UPS (25+ Years). While in Minot, he met his former wife, Randee (Ford) Reiser. They were married in 1978 and raised their three children together.
His career advancement at UPS took the family from Minot, ND, to Grand Forks, ND, to Fargo, ND, to Mitchell, SD (where the kids were born), and finally to Bismarck, ND. In 1997, they moved to Hazen, ND, to be closer to family while Lee worked in a traveling position for UPS. Lee poured his blood, sweat, and tears into his career at UPS to provide a good life for his family. On Christmas Eve, Lee would wait until the last employee would clock out before he went home; he cared about every employee he worked with, a testament to his character. In 2001, Lee retired from UPS.
Following his divorce in 2010, Lee returned to live on the family farm in Turtle Lake and took a job at the local Farmers Union in 2012, where he worked for a couple of years before ultimately deciding to retire and focus on enjoying his retirement life.
Lee met his guardian angel, Annette Coy, in 2011 and moved off the farm and into town with her. They enjoyed spending time together, buying as many flowers as they could plant and hosting family at their happy place, the lake cabin. In 2021, life threw Lee a curve ball as he had a stroke. Annette's decision to bring Lee home and provide him with exceptional care is a testament to her dedication and unconditional love for him.
His family and friends remember Lee for sharing his love of baseball, including many trips to Minneapolis to watch his favorite team, the Minnesota Twins. Lee was an avid coin collector and an outdoor enthusiast; he shared his love for the outdoors with his oldest son, Brandon. They spent countless days creating cherishable memories while hunting and fishing.
Lee has 3 grandchildren that he adored. He loved to watch McKenna perform in her theatre productions, enjoyed spontaneous visits from Wren during her summer trips to Turtle Lake, and had his "little buddy" Nolan, whom he loved watching play sports.
He had a zest for life and cherished many wonderful memories. One of his favorite songs was, Believe by Cher. In honor of Lee, take a moment to ask your favorite smart device to play Believe, and think of some of your favorite moments and memories spent with Lee.
The family had reached out to the Minnesota Twins to serve as pallbearers, hoping to give Lee one final farewell. Regrettably, due to circumstances beyond their control, the Twins could not fulfill this request- yet another instance where they let Lee down!
Lee will be dearly missed by many, but especially his loving companion, Annette Coy of Turtle Lake; his children, Brandon Reiser of Pick City, Chris (Abby Krebs) Reiser of Bismarck, Amanda (Matthew) Johnson of Horace; grandchildren, McKenna, Wren, and Nolan; sisters, Sharon (David) Mertz of Bismarck, and Betty Miller of Turtle Lake; brother, Jerry (Deb) Reiser of Turtle Lake; brother-in-law, Gary (Pauline) Christensen of Fort Worth, TX; sister-in-law, Nikki Reiser of Turtle Lake; as well as many nieces and nephews who knew Lee as Uncle Chuck.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Christensen; brother, Jeffrey Reiser and brother-in-law, Jerry Miller .
Beloved companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Lee departed way too soon leaving love and kindness to many.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Turtle Hospital Swing Bed and Turtle Lake Cemetery.
