Laurel "Winky" Miller, age 56, of Underwood, died Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Underwood with Rev. Darrel Aleson and Deacon Jodi Lorenz officiating. Burial will be in the Underwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5pm to 7pm at the church and will continue on Tuesday for 1 hour before the services.

Laurel "Winky" was born on March 25, 1963 in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Gary and Doreen (Rothmann) Miller. She was raised and educated in Underwood. Winky graduated from the Underwood High School in 1981. She attended Minot State University where she graduated in 2006 with her Registered Nurse degree. Winky received her Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary in 2010 and also a Master's degree in Science from University of Mary in 2011. She worked as a bookkeeper for Knutson Implement and as a CNA at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. She later started her RN career and worked for various nursing homes in the area. Winky's work career also included being a 4 ^th generation farmer near Underwood.

She was a member of the Underwood United Methodist Church, where she served on the church board.

Winky loved caring for her rescue animals, traveling and scrapbooking. Winky will always be remembered for her love of the "underdog".

She is survived by her special love of 42 years, Kenneth Stadick, Underwood, ND; brother and sister-in-law: Monte (Wendy) Miller, Washburn, ND and sister, DeAnn Miller, Underwood, ND; Nieces and Nephews: Sydney (Abram) Haich, Sumner Boschert and friend, Katelyn Pahl and McKenzie and Jacob Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
