Larry Keith Anderson was born January 11, 1939 in Bismarck, ND, a son to Levi & Dorothy (Morris) Anderson. Larry attended school in Wilton, ND and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1957. Following his honorable discharge in 1959, he married Sharon Linder on September 10, 1960 in Wilton.
Larry worked for the North Dakota Water Commission until 1963. He then began his career with the railroad, starting with Northern Pacific in 1963 and then for the Soo Line in 1971. Larry retired in 1992 due to a work related injury.
In his earlier years, Larry rode as a jockey and was a member of the re-enacted 7 th Cavalry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and looked forward to making deer sausage every year. He was well-known for routinely "tinkering" in his shop which he affectionately called "The Corner". Larry enjoyed playing pinochle, having morning coffee at the County Line Café, and making trips to local casinos. He had an extensive model train collection which he displayed in the entire third level of his house. Larry will be remembered for his love of the 4 th of July. He acted like a kid (in a candy store) when it came to buying fireworks. He was proud of his massive cucumber patch and enjoyed giving away the produce of his many plants. Larry enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and the Mollie B. Polka Party on TV. Most importantly, he appreciated the time he could spend with his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Sharon Anderson, of Wilton; daughter, Debbie (Perry) Smith of Wilton; son, Jerry (Delanie) Anderson of Bismarck; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Anderson of Wilton; grandchildren, Lukas Anderson, Nicole Anderson (Phil Robins), Natasha (Jimmy) Howard, Alanna Smith (Johnny McDonald), Alexus Anderson, & Kyra Anderson; great-grandchildren, Lennex Howard and baby Memphis Howard (due in December); one sister, Jean (John) Hruby of Wilton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a son (Larry), and a sister (Joan Schacher).
