Kim Wagner, 67, of Bismarck, ND, formerly of Washburn died, Friday, August 21, 2026, at her residence, Funeral Mass will be held at St. Edwin’s Catholic Church, Washburn, ND on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:30AM. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the mass at the church. Burial will be in River View Cemetery, Washburn, ND.

Kim was born on April 8, 1959, to Lloyd and Darlene (Grondahl) Welstad. She was raised in Minot, ND, until the family moved to Washburn in the summer of 1975. She made Washburn her home and graduated from Washburn High School in 1977.

She met the love of her life, Reuben “Joe” Wagner Jr. The two were married on July 27, 1979, beginning a life together filled with love, family, and countless memories. They were blessed with two children, Shannon and Preston.

She spent 28 years working at Krause’s SuperValu, where her friendly nature and caring personality allowed her to form many lasting friendships. Following Joe’s passing, she moved to Bismarck in December of 2017, where she later worked at Hobby Lobby for several years.

While work was an important part of her life, the people she loved always came first. She treasured time spent with family, friends, and neighbors and had a special way of making the people around her feel cared for. She was loving and thoughtful, and those fortunate enough to know her will remember the kindness she so naturally shared with others.

She also knew how to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. She loved lake life, water skiing, and snowmobiling. She enjoyed calling radio stations in hopes of winning tickets—and more often than not; she seemed to have a knack for winning. She also enjoyed doing word seeks, and as she would be quick to remind you, they were word seeks, not word searches.

Kim is survived by her two sons, Shannon (Ashley) and Preston Wagner, two granddaughters, Jaylia and Blakely, one brother, Kirk (Nicole) Welstad, one sister, Karla (Darald) Hagel, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
