A remembrance service will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Riverdale.

Kim was born November 13, 1950 at Enderlin, ND the son to John and Priscilla (Storhoff) McGregor. He spent his youth riding horses, swimming, wrestling, playing football, and being his father's companion. He married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Lynelle Janz, on April 11, 1970 at Enderlin. They lived in Valley City, ND, where their first child, Trevor, was born and later moved to Hancock, MN for a short time. Kim and Lynelle made Riverdale, ND their permanent home in 1974. In 1978, they completed their family with the births of their daughters, Tasha and Taryn.

Kim graduated from Valley City State College in 1972. He taught math for several years in Hancock, MN and Riverdale, ND before becoming a power plant operator. He worked for CPA (Cooperative Power) and later at the Garrison Dam power plant where he has worked for the last 25 years.

Kim was an extraordinary husband, father and grandfather. He inspired those around him with his gentleness, patience, honesty and integrity. He found satisfaction in making others happy, whether it was a family member, a friend, or even a stranger. Kim was a fun and eager playmate for all children and was his grandson's best friend.

He enjoyed hunting, traveling with family and friends, ice fishing, snow skiing, water skiing, volleyball, backyard patio parties, farming, and vacationing with Lyle and Claudia Janz. Kim cherished the community of Riverdale, where he spent time on the city council and was a volunteer fire fighter.

Kim set an incredible example to those around him, especially his children, by being an openly loving, respectful and devoted husband. Kim tragically lost his soul-mate, Lynelle, in July of 2004, but has now been joyfully re-united with her. The two of them took advantage of all that life had to offer.

Kim is survived by his son Trevor (Sue) McGregor of Bigfork, MT; two daughters, Tasha (Tim) Twardowski of Long Prairie, MN and Taryn (Krist)Kjelstrup of Underwood, ND; one grandson, Cade McGregor Kjelstrup; and one granddaughter, Rio Lyn McGregor; two brothers, Don (Joanne) McGregor of Fargo, ND, and Bob (Jackie) McGregor of Colville, WA; one sister, Cathy (Noel) Duckwitz of Idaho Falls, ID; his extended family and many close friends.

Kim was preceded in death by his parents and wife Lynelle.
