Kevin Berger, age 56 of Washburn, died Wednesday, Nov. 30th at a Bismarck hospital. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorial Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 3rd at First Lutheran Church in Washburn with Pastor Erik Johnson officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the church.
Kevin was born in 1955 to Rufus & Phyllis Berger. He attended school in Center, ND and graduated from Center High School. After his graduation, he attended the Billings Automotive Training Center in Montana. Kevin married Nadine Gappert in 1974 and together they raised one daughter, Nikki. In May 1975, Kevin began working for Falkirk Mine. He moved his family to Washburn in 1978. Kevin retired from Falkirk Mine in 2010. Throughout his life he enjoyed many things, especially attending derby races, stock car & drag racing, fishing, camping, and golfing. Kevin cherished time spent with his family, friends, neighbors, nieces, & nephews. He greatly enjoyed time shared with his grandson Seth.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nadine Berger of Washburn; daughter and son-in-law, Nikki & Justin Sackman of Bismarck; one grandson, Seth Sackman; four sisters, Janice (Carl) Christman of Billings, MT, Joyce (Ray) Sheldon of Huntley, MT, Cheri (Ross) Schroeder of New Salem, ND, & Renita Berger of Mandan, ND; one brother, Darrell Berger of Center, ND; and several nieces & nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents.
