Katherine "Kathy" Westrum, 76, of rural Turtle Lake, ND died June 27, 2022 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Turtle Lake.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Turtle Lake with Pastor Randy Emgarten officiating.  Interment will be held in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Kathy was born May 25, 1946 in Bismarck, ND the daughter of Robert and Myrtle (Binsfeld) Biesterfeld.  She was raised and educated in Washburn and Wilton.  She graduated from Wilton High School in 1964.  She married Darrel Landsiedel in 1967 and together they had three children, Darren, Sherri and Janine.  They lived near Washburn and later moved to a farm near McClusky.  Kathy worked at the McLean and Sheridan County Courthouses and later worked at the McClusky lumber yard and for the drug store in McClusky.  Darrel passed away in 2000 and she then married Waldo Westrum.  They were married in 2001 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Turtle Lake.  They lived on a farm north of Turtle Lake and Kathy worked as an aide at the Community Memorial Hospital and also planted trees for the McLean County Soil Conservation.

She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, baking, crocheting, playing bingo and playing her guitar, accordion and the piano.  She will always be remembered for being Waldo's co-pilot on the many cattle trips.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Waldo Westrum of rural Turtle Lake; her children, Darren Landsiedel of Wilton, Sherri (Jay) Girard of Billings, MT and Janine Landsiedel (Lonnie Jacobs) of Garrison, ND; her grandchildren, Kendra, Cody and Chelsey Landsiedel, Alicia (Eric) Webster, Zachary and Isaiah Girard and Marrisa, Samantha and Chance Camacho; her great grandchildren, Jacob Blaire, Logan Girard-Manley and Sofia Girard-Rivera; her step son, Jeremy Westrum of Salinas, CA; her step grandchildren, Alex, Lyndsey and Jamie Westrum and Electra Westrum; a step great grandson, Roman Heinle; her brother, Ken (Darlene) Biesterfeld of Wilton and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and a step daughter, Allison Westrum.
