Karl "Kelly" Christian Wagner, 72, of Turtle Lake, ND passed away on May 1, 2016 in Turtle Lake. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake. Officiating will be Pastor Sondra Krogstad. Interment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery with military rites provided by the Turtle Lake American Legion Post 133. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Kelly was the only child born to Godfred and Esther (Flemmer) Wagner. He graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1961. After high school he worked in the Construction field. He joined the U.S. Army in 1965 and he spent most of his time in Germany. He was discharged in 1967. He married Marilyn Ness on October 10, 1969 at First Lutheran Church in Washburn ND. From this union two children were born, Kimberly and Thomas.

Kelly was an over the road truck driver for 40 years before selling his truck and semi retiring. Kelly continued to stay busy by hauling scrap iron, tinkering in his shop and driving for Farmers Union Oil Company of Turtle Lake.

Kelly enjoyed his winters in Apache Junction, AZ by sightseeing, visiting museums, going to a casino, and especially reading his Western books, therefore his family donated his corneas.

The greatest joy in his life was being called "Pops" by his Grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his daughter Kim (James) of Mercer; his son, Thomas of Republic MO; his grandchildren, Jaren of Turtle Lake and Jade of Mercer; his
brothers-in-law, Eugene Ness and Clark (Claudette) Ness of Washburn; several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
