June "Peggy" A. Wicklander, 97, Washburn, ND died December 1, 2018 at her residence under the care of hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Washburn United Methodist Church with Pastor Kayla Buckley officiating. Interment will be held in the Riverview Cemetery, Washburn. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Peggy was born June 20, 1921 in Washburn the daughter of John and Alma (Brummund) Starbuck. She was raised and educated in Washburn where she graduated from high school in 1939. She married Raymond Wicklander on January 6, 1943 in San Diego, CA where Ray was stationed in the military. They lived in San Diego and Corpus Christi, TX before settling in Washburn. Peggy worked at the IGA grocery store and at the McLean County Courthouse as a clerk.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church Woman and the Washburn American Legion Auxiliary. Peggy enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels at their feeder outside her home.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Raymond "Ray" Wicklander of Washburn; her son, Dan (Sandi) Wicklander of Washburn; her daughters, Cheryl Wicklander of Portland, OR, Marcia Walker of Port Orchard, WA and Linda (Jim) Williamson of Missoula, MT; her grandchildren, Katie (Justin) Work, Matthew (Courtney) Walker, Annie (John) Baumann, Mike Williamson, Jennifer (Luke) Hennessy, Lindsey Wicklander, Karla (Jeff) Nelson and Karen (Joel) Zwinger; her great grandchildren, Harper and Reese Baumann and Brooklyn, Jayden and Logan Zwinger; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Frances (Leonard) Nielson.
