Juliet "Julie" F. Dennis, age 69 of Turtle Lake, ND died July 13, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday all at the church. Interment will be at the Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Juliet "Julie" F. Dennis was born April 23, 1945 in Harvey, ND the daughter of John and Elsie (Treft) Frey. She was raised and educated in Velva, Sawyer and graduated from the Harvey High School in 1963. Julie worked in a bank in Bismarck for a short period of time and returned to Harvey where she worked in the Harvey Hospital. She married Arnold Burkman in 1970 in Harvey. Arnold died a short time after that from a brain tumor. Julie then married Eugene Dennis in 1973 in Bismarck. Following their marriage they lived in Turtle Lake. Julie worked at the Bank of Turtle Lake from 1975 until retiring in 2008.

Julie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake American Legion Auxiliary, Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and served on the Community Chest. She was a volunteer for the ambulance and would deliver medication to Praireview Nursing Home in Underwood.


Julie enjoyed quilting at the church, camping, fishing, gardening, traveling, Fourth of July celebrations at Curtis', and most of all spending time with family and friends, especially her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Julie is survived by a brother, Curtis (Mel) Frey of Harvey, ND; a sister, Diann (Lloyd) Miller of Hazen, ND and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, special friends and her two special cats, Midnight and Itty Bitty.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and a niece, Renee Miller Phillips.
