Obituary

Judy Ann Kuehn, 79, Bismarck, ND formerly of Turtle Lake passed away on May 22, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake with Pastor Randy Emgarten officiating.  Interment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.

Judy was born December 10, 1941 in Minot, ND to Herbert and Fern (Bolkan) Morlang, three days after World War II started. She didn't see her father for the first three years of her life.  After her father returned from the service, the family moved to Benicia, CA and then Fallon, NV.  After her father's sudden death in 1956, Judy and her four younger siblings along with her mother moved back to the North Dakota Prairie.

Judy graduated from Parshall High School in 1960.  She attended Christie Beauty School in Bismarck.  She then moved to Minot and worked at Gina's Beauty shop.  Judy married her high school sweetheart Wilton (Bill) H Kuehn II in Parshall on March 02, 1962.  They moved to Grand Forks where they both attended the University of North Dakota.  Their son Wilton H Kuehn III was born while they lived in Grand Forks.  They moved to Minot in 1964 and then back to Parshall in 1968.  Their son Paul Michael Kuehn was born while they lived in Parshall.  In 1970 they moved to Myrtle Creek, Oregon where Bill taught High School and Judy raised the young boys.  In 1974 they moved to Portland, Oregon where Judy attended Portland State University and Bill attended Dental School.  While living in Portland Judy worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in the Radiology Department.  In 1978 they moved to Turtle Lake, North Dakota where she supported Bill in his Dental Practice for 34 years.  In 2012 they retired and moved to Bismarck, North Dakota.

After moving to Turtle Lake Judy became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  She was also a member of the Turtle Lake Study Club.  In Bismarck she attended Charity Lutheran Church and enjoyed her grandsons' school and sporting activities.  She was an avid reader, and could knock off a large novel in two days and thoroughly know it from cover to cover.  She loved camping with family, hosting large family gatherings at her home, music, playing cards and spending time with her siblings.  She also enjoyed traveling and for several summers Judy and Bill went sailing in and around the Puget Sound area with friends.

Judy is survived by her husband, Wilton H Kuehn II; two sons, Wilton (Laurie) H Kuehn III, Turtle Lake and Paul (Linnette) Michael Kuehn, Bismarck, ND; two grandchildren, Michael Kuehn and Braiden Kuehn, Bismarck, ND;  two brothers, Don (Tricia) Morlang, Strafford, NH and Roger (Ann) Olson, Fargo, ND; two sisters: Connie Tibor, Hebron, ND and Peggy Serr, Minot, ND; sister-in-law, Melody Kuehn, San Benito, TX,  and several nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her step father Truman Olson; sisters Barbara Morlang and Jackie Hoff; and her brothers-in-law, Dean Serr, Gerard Tibor and Jon Kuehn.
