Joyce M. McCray, age 53 of Coleharbor, ND died Friday, November 20 at her home in Coleharbor.

Funeral Services: 2:30 PM Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009;
Augustana Lutheran Church – Underwood, ND;
Rev. Joel Sherer, officiating

Interment: Coleharbor Cemetery – rural Coleharbor, ND;

Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of funeral service at the church.

Joyce was born July 24, 1956 at Turtle Lake, ND to Emil & Marcella (Brokofsky) Korner. She spent her childhood in Turtle Lake and attended school. Joyce married Alvin A. McCray on February 23, 1973 in Coleharbor, ND where they have made their home for the last 36 years. She enjoyed collecting lighthouse and dragon figurines and was an avid football fan. Joyce was a lover of nature and enjoyed spending time in her yard along with her husband Alvin watching birds at the birdfeeder and the countless bunnies that lived nearby. She was a classic rock music fan and looked forward to evening car rides around the surrounding lakes and countryside.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin McCray of Garrison, ND; one daughter, Sabrina (William Jr.) Kelley of New Bern, NC; one son, Joshua McCray of Grand Forks, ND; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Nathaniel, & Zachary; her mother, Marcella Korner of Valley City, ND; five siblings, Mary (Vern) Miller of Livingston, MT, Myron (Donna) Korner of Vacaville, CA, Nancy Zueger of Rice Lake, WI, Sally (Marion) Gajdos of Florence, KY, & Kathy Poeppel of Washburn, ND; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father (Emil), one daughter (Mae Johnson), & two sisters (Sharon & Margie Ann).
