JoNell Samson, 84, of Wilton, ND, went to Heaven February 14, 2019. Funeral service will be held at Mission Evangelical Free Church in Wilton, ND, at 10:30am, Saturday February 23, 2019 with Pastor Russell G. Whitaker, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial north of Minot. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

JoNell's story starts on March 28, 1934, the oldest of four children to Joe and Elsie (Hausauer) Reeves. She was born in Oklahoma, but when JoNell was still little, Joe and Elsie moved their small family to Eureka, SD then to Minot, ND where she would attend Minot High School. Minot is where she would meet her husband, Sam Peter Samson, at the Clarence Parker Hotel. She worked as a cashier, and he was the bellhop. JoNell and Sam moved out to the family farm in Max, ND and spent many hardworking years where they raised five rambunctious children.

JoNell enjoyed passing on her domestic skills, such as sewing, crafting, flower gardening, and hosting to her grandkids. She also loved to quilt, attend bible study, and bake at least once a week for family and friends. The family was quite spoiled on the farm.

She was an active member of Mission Evangelical Free Church and the Wilton's Sunne Quilter's Club. She loved to read her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a kind, loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Sam Samson; a daughter, Sandra Erie; and two brothers, Jim and Meredith Reeves.

JoNell is survived by four children: Delila and (Mike) Rasmussen; Gene Samson; Jerry and (Karen) Samson; and Jeff and (Cammy) Samson; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Delores Poling.   She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
