John Teske, age 84 of Fargo, ND, formerly of Washburn, ND, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at his home in Fargo.

Visitation: 2:00 - 9:00 PM Tuesday at Goetz Funeral Home - Washburn;
7:00 PM Remembrance Service;
Wednesday, 1 hour prior to time of service at the church

John H. Teske was born March 24, 1922 at Mountain Lake, MN the son of Benjamin & Katherine (Wall) Teske. He attended rural school near Mountain Lake. John worked as a farm laborer in the area until 1957. He married Burnette Deckert on November 14, 1952. They moved to Arena, ND in 1957 to live near Burnette's family. In 1959, they moved to Falkirk, ND where he worked as a farmhand for Phillip Eichhorst. In 1963, they moved to Washburn. John was employed as a mechanic for the Standard and Amoco stations, a custodian for the McLean County Courthouse, and operated his own business, John's Lawn Care. He also did tree removal and load hauling. In 2004, John and Burnette moved to Fargo to be closer to some of their children. John enjoyed reading, visiting with friends at Washburn café's, and making wooden lawn ornaments.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Burnette Teske of Fargo, ND; 5 children, Sidney (Karen) Teske of Minneapolis, MN, Jenise Teske of Minneapolis, MN, Colleen Teske, Trent (Lisa) Teske, & Dan (Bon) Teske, all of Fargo, ND; 9 grandchildren,
3 great-grandchildren; 1 nephew & 1 niece

He was preceded in death by his parents, & 2 sisters (Helen Faulk & Esther Teske)
