John was the son of Warren and Beverly (Lange) Hill. He was a brother to David Hill, Waubun Minnesota; Joan (Michael) Hammer, Bellingham WA; Mary (James) Compton, Bellingham WA; Wayne (Nancy) Hill, Everson WA; Cathy Hill, Turtle Lake ND and uncle to; Ryan Hammer, Shanon Fischer, Brittany Lewis, Derek Compton, Tyler Compton, Blake Compton, Mark Hill, Jonathan Curtwright, Wyatt Colby and special Great Uncle to, Sophia Compton, Amber, Riley & Noah Hammer, Patience Fischer. He was preceded in death by his Father Warren (2009), Mother Beverly (1998) and brother in-law Michael Hammer (1991) John was an animal lover from the beginning. We are pretty sure he preferred them over people! He had a way with them. His calm demeanor and the way he cared or should we say "spoiled" them was a delight to watch. He was an outdoorsman. His love of the forest and everything else in it was his serenity. Unless it was dark and he could swear there was a Sasquatch watching him! He was also a sports enthusiast. If you looked for John on Sundays you would find him in front of a TV watching Football. But he loved all sports and the Olympics.

John was a unique guy, always good for conversation (which could be very interesting and at time head shaking), good at tinkering in the garage and enjoyed cutting firewood. The Hill Siblings had an extraordinary opportunity in 2018 to go to Norway. John's first airplane ride! Nothing like putting him on a 20 hour flight for his first time! He was so intrigued with the history and the beauty of that Country. We are so thankful for that trip. John will leave an empty space in all of our hearts. We do find comfort in our many memories with John and knowing he is at Peace and with Jesus. If you wish to make a donation, we think it is fitting to make a donation to your local Animal Shelter.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Turtle Lake, ND. Burial will be held this spring in WA at Nooksack Cemetery. He will be buried beside his Parents.
