Obituary
John H. Clausen, Sr., age 79 of Wilton, ND passed peacefully on November 5th, 2011 at a Bismarck hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, Nov. 10th at Sunne Lutheran Church, rural Wilton, ND, with Pastor Paul Schauer officiating. Committal will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Goetz Funeral Home in Washburn and will continue Thursday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.
John was born in Helena, MT, on March 17, 1932. While residing there he married the love of his life, Lorraine Maynard. They celebrated 61 years together on September 15, 2011.
He was blessed with five children: Linda (Bruce) Sampson, Cindy (Paul) Bartholomew, Sue Fred, John (Kathy) Clausen, & Scott (Lynette) Clausen; thirteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Among John's accomplishments, was his assistance in creating the Wilton Rural Ambulance in which he served, along with the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department, for 34 years. His family will miss his great sense of humor, contagious laugh, and love of life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Wilton Ambulance Service and Wilton Volunteer Fire Department.
