Jim McCone, age 61 of Mandan, ND, formerly of Hensler, ND, went to join his family in the great pasture in heaven. He passed away Sunday, May 21, 2006 at his home in Mandan.

Visitation: Wednesday, 6:00-9:00 PM at Goetz Funeral Home - Washburn;
Thursday, 1 hour prior to time of service at the church.

James H. McCone, Sr. was born June 10, 1944 at Mandan, ND the son of Robert & Marguerite (Bagnell) McCone. He attended the Marysville country grade school, south of Hensler, and graduated from Center High School in 1963. Following high school, he worked for the Mandan Police Department for several years. After the death of his father, he took over operation of the family farm near Hensler. Jim's love for ranching and horses was instilled in him at a young age and it stayed with him to the day he passed away.

He is survived by 3 Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Bill & Kerry McCone of Hebron, ND, James Jr. & Beth McCone of Bismarck, ND, Pat & Debi McCone of Lincoln, ND;
5 Grandchildren: Nicole, Brittany, Brooke, Tyler, & Chase; 3 Great Grandchildren: Nathan, Owen, & Niobe; 2 Sisters: Alice Laeger of Kulm, ND, & Gevi (Larry) Untzinger of Waterville, WA; 2 Brothers: Tom (Mae) McCone of New Orleans, LA, & Bob (Betty) McCone of Christmas Valley, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister (Ruth), 1 brother-in-law, and
1 great-grandson.
