Jeanette E. Lelm, 66, of Turtle Lake, ND died unexpectedly on November 13, 2014 in Turtle Lake.

Funeral Services will be held 2:30 P.M. Monday, November 17, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake with Pastor Sondra Krogstad officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John's Cemetery of rural Turtle Lake. Visitation will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake. Visitation will continue Monday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Jeanette was born July 23, 1948 in Bismarck, ND to Warren & Vivian (Voth) Kraft. She attended school in Turtle Lake and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1966. Jeanette married Vyron Lelm on March 31, 1967 at Peace Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake. They made their home on a farm north of Turtle Lake where she worked side by side with her husband on their dairy farm. They sold their cows in September 2009 and finally got to start enjoying life and the freedom to get away from the farm for longer than 8 hours. Their hard work and dedication, earned them a McLean County Soil Conservation award. In retirement, Jeanette enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and sporting events.


She enjoyed quilting, baking, cooking, gardening, and canning. Jeanette was always ready to entertain friends and family. She also enjoyed bowling, serving as secretary for the Women's League and Couples League. Jeanette served as treasurer of the Trinity Lutheran Church Council and President of the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Bits & Pieces Quilt Club and served on the Turtle Lake-Mercer Alumni Board. As a cancer survivor for two years, Jeanette supported many causes by participating in many benefit walks such as ALS, Relay for Life, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Out of Darkness, and the Sanford Breast Cancer Walk.


She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Vyron Lelm of Turtle Lake; three sons, Lonnie (Lisa) Lelm of Turtle Lake, Dean (Lisa) Lelm of Redondo Beach, CA, & Alan (Jackie) Lelm of Bismarck; one daughter, Shawna Lelm of Lincoln, ND; nine grandchildren, Justine, Landen, Lexi, Alex, Jacob, Grace, Aaron, Brooklyn, Sydney; her mother, Vivian Kraft of Turtle Lake; two brothers, Jerry (Peggy) Kraft of Apache Junction, AZ, Jim (Deb) Kraft of Turtle Lake; one sister, Janice (Donnie) Schmidt of Benedict, ND; & many nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her father (Warren Kraft), her father & mother-in-law (George & Annie Lelm), and one infant sister (Sharon).
