Jeanette E. Kerzman, age 92 of Underwood, ND died peacefully on Sunday, May 22nd, 2011 at the Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 27th at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church in Underwood with Rev. Frank J. Schuster as celebrant.
Burial will follow at the Coleharbor Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 P.M. to 7:00 PM Thursday at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 PM.
Jeanette was born March 9, 1919 at Endres, ND to Michael & Rosa (Zenz) Gertz. She attended rural school in Endres Township. As a young woman, Jeanette worked for area farmers as a household domestic and also assisted with field work. She married James Louser on Jan. 22, 1940 in Underwood. On April 26, 1949 she married Roy Kerzman in Washburn. Jeanette was a busy housewife who raised several children. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She was an active member of the St. Anne's Altar Society and enjoyed quilting with the church group. Jeanette was also a member of the Helping Hands Club and the local Pinochle & Whist Club. She volunteered many years at the Prairieview Nursing Home where she recently became a resident. Jeanette was affectionately known to many people as "Granny" Kerzman.
She is survived by her children, Boyd Louser of Glendive, MT, Karen (Larry) Scholl of Cherokee Village, AR, Wanda (Rodney) Jesser of Underwood, Barbara Hillery of Oceanside, CA, Carol (Tom) Pelletier of Bismarck, & Lawrence (Cindy) Kerzman of Coleharbor; 13 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Rosella Lee of Fairview, MT; son-in-law, Richard Wiese of Polson, MT; brother-in-law, Art Kerzman of Idaho; sister-in-law, Evelyn Krebsbach of Garrison; and many nieces & nephews.
Jeanette was preceded in death by two husbands (James Louser & Roy Kerzman), daughter (Lavonne Wiese), son & daughter-in-law (Wayne & Sue Kerzman), two sons-in-law (Barney Yunker & Stan Hillery), daughter-in-law (Janice Louser), granddaughter (DeAnn Wiese), & four half-brothers (Anthony, William, Hank, & Al).
