IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean M.
Landsiedel
January 16, 1946 – August 10, 2021
Jean Blotter was born on January 16, 1946 in Minot, ND, the daughter of William "Bill" and Alunda (Lentz) Blotter. She was raised and educated in Turtle Lake, attending country school through the 8 th grade and graduating from Turtle Lake High School. After high school, she attended the National College of Business in Rapid City, SD, graduating with a degree in business and office machines. Her 1 st job after college was working at the Garrison State Bank.
Jean married Bobby Landsiedel at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Turtle Lake on January 30, 1966, following their marriage, they lived in Fessenden, ND, where Jean was a homemaker. They moved to Turtle Lake, ND in 1967 where they started their family. They moved to Washburn, ND in 1979 where they lived until her death.
At the age of 23 her health was declining. She had emergency surgery and was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. Over the next 43 years, there were many ups and downs. By 2002, the medical field could not do any more for her. Through a series of miracles, she lived another 19 years, she credits her 2 sons-in-law, for finding her alternative ways of healing along with a lot of prayers.
In her quest to learn, as her body began to heal, she sought out classes and seminars out of state and in Canada to possibly help others who had health struggles as well. Through the years it became her passion to help others. She owned her own business TriHarmony, where she worked in her home and in Bismarck. She was a licensed reflexologist and a Core Synchronism Practitioner.
She wrote, "I believe that God had spared my life, so I could help others, not only for their health, but to be a witness of how great a God we have and only He is the God of miracles, as I am one of those miracles. I thank God for what I have gone through to help me become more compassionate, patient and caring and most of all to put my trust in Him, living one day at a time."
Jean always enjoyed children. Besides raising her family, she had a home daycare, worked at 3 different banks and became a certified nurses assistant for 2 different hospitals. She also taught art classes, Sunday School and AWANA'S. Jean had many God given talents that she used to bless everyone around her and authored a book titled Roses & Thorns.
In 2016, Jean's health began to drastically decline. To save her life, her family took her to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha where she was put on full time TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition). Jean could no longer eat, she received all her nutrition and liquids intravenously. Once again Crohn's disease caused her another setback. On June 22, 2021, Jean went through a major surgery at the Nebraska Medical Center to remove a large intestinal blockage. Her doctors were amazed with Jean's fight to survive. God provided another miracle as Jean could now eat and drink for the first time in many years. Jean came back home on July 10, 2021, her husband Bob took care of her around the clock as over the last 5 years she had developed severe osteoporosis due to her declining medical condition.
Bob was her hero, he took care of Jean over the last year 24 hours a day. God provided one last miracle, they were able to eat together for a month before Jean passed. Jean loved to eat again and Bob loved to cook for them. They especially enjoyed eating from Bob's beautiful garden.
Grateful to have shared her life are: her husband of 55 years, Bob of Washburn, ND; her daughters and sons-in-law: Lisa and Curt Engebretson of Mandan, ND, Jodi and Bruce Ogden of Windsor, CO; her son and daughter-in-law: David and Julie Landsiedel of Bismarck, ND; nine grandchildren: Alex Valley, Garret Engebretson, Alexis Ogden, Kiara (Derek) Gonnerman, Hunter Ogden, Brooklynn Ogden, Jordan (Tyler) Epping, Landon Landsiedel and Tryton Landsiedel; a great granddaughter, Nova Ogden; a brother and sister-in-law: Jerry and Rita Blotter of Coleharbor, ND; three sisters: Dolores Walcker of Turtle Lake, ND, Judy Reppen of Hazen, ND and Jan Madsen of Minot, ND and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents.
It is not so much of what we have done or accomplished in our life that is important, but it is who we serve as we continue on our life's journey. I am truly blessed with a family who loves me.
