Janet Kae Folden, 72 of Underwood, ND passed away August 7, 2020 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck, ND.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Underwood with Nathan Schieber officiating.  Interment will be held in the Underwood Cemetery, Underwood.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.

Janet was born August 27, 1947 in Bismarck the daughter of Louis and Ida (Schauer) Hoppe.  She was the youngest of three children.  Janet attended Underwood Public School and graduated from high school in 1965.  She also attended cosmetology school in Bismarck and worked as a beautician for one year.  Janet married Dennis Folden on September 20, 1968 in Underwood.  They moved to the family farm near Ryder, ND for a few years and had two children.  In 1977 they moved to a farm two miles north of Underwood.  Janet worked for a couple of restaurants as a waitress and cook and she also worked as a dish washer at the Underwood Public School for a few years.  In 1989, she attended Bismarck State College where she took business classes.  After college she worked for the McLean County Independent in billing and subscription renewals.  Janet most recently worked as teller at the Garrison State Bank and Trust for 13 years.  Janet enjoyed dancing and attending polkafests.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Folden of Underwood; her daughter, Brenda (Rick) Waterworth of West Fargo, ND; her son, Mark (Kelly) Folden of Bismarck; her grandchildren, Trace (Larisa) Waterworth of Fargo, ND, Taylor Waterworth of Tucson, AZ, Bretny and Austin Folden of Bismarck; her great grandson, Grayson Waterworth of Fargo.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Wilbert Hoppe; a sister, Elaine Sayler and an infant great grandson, Caleb.
