Obituary
Jan Klayson, 70, of El Dorado, KS, formerly of Center, ND, passed from this life to heaven on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 in Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii while on vacation with her husband Mark and their friends. Jan held a deep love for the islands of Hawaii.
A celebration of Jan's life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Center followed by a lunch at the Center Civic Center for her family and friends.
Janice Caroline was born March 28, 1946 in Rugby, ND to Anton "Tony" and Gertrude (Muffenbier) Jaeger. She graduated from Rugby High School in 1964 and attended business college in Bismarck.
She married Marshall "Mark" Klayson on October 30, 1965 in Rugby, ND. They traveled to various locations following Mark's work before settling in Center, ND in 1973. She was active with the Center Ambulance squad and involved in many community events and organizations. Jan recieved her R.N. Degree from the University of Mary and served as an R.N. at the Med Center One Clinic in Center. She later worked as the Oliver County public health nurse until she retired in 2005. Jan & Mark enjoyed a beautiful life in Center with her their two children, Steven & Nicci. Following retirement, her and Mark moved to Garrison, ND on Lake Sakakawea and later moved to El Dorado, KS. They were snow birds in Mesa, AZ for several years. Jan loved traveling, swimming, sewing, cooking (she was an amazing cook), spending time with family and friends, but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Jan lived a fulfilling life and was a very caring and giving person. She was a blessing to everyone that knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Klayson of El Dorado, KS: son, Steven (Samantha) Klayson of El Dorado, KS; daughter, Nicole "Nicci" (Larry) Calhoun of Columbus, IN; her grandchildren; Josh Calhoun, Caleb Calhoun, Bryce Gillihan, Seth Klayson, Selah Klayson, and Dane Calhoun; her siblings, Adeline Jaeger, Sally (Ervin) Grabanski, Stanley (Gayle) Jaeger, Roger (Cherie) Jaeger, & sister-in-law, Cecilia Jaeger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, & two brothers, Richard & Danny Jaeger.
