Gordon Goetz, 68, of Washburn, ND passed away into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 14, 2022. He left this world surrounded by his wife and their three children.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, Jan. 20 th at the Washburn Baptist Church. Burial will be held at a later date in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, followed by a 7:00 PM Remembrance Service.

Gordon "Gordy" was born April 13, 1953 in Bismarck, ND to John & Gladys (Holtan) Goetz. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Washburn where he graduated in 1971. He worked alongside his father on the farm while attending school at Bismarck Junior College. Gordon married Connie Sibley on Sept. 2, 1972 in Washburn. They were blessed with three children, John, Joshua, and Jennifer. The family resided on the family farm until 1999 when they moved into town.

Gordy worked at the Glenharold Coal Mine and Leland Olds Power Plant where he worked as an electrician until his retirement in 2018. His greatest joy in life was his children and grandchildren. He was devoted to them and could always be counted on for a helping hand. He offered words of encouragement, lots of hugs, and loved sharing his love of Jesus and his appreciation of music with them.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; his sons, John (Kari) of Minot, & Josh (Shaune) of Washburn; daughter, Jennifer of Palmer, AK; his legacy continues on through his six beloved granddaughters, Ellie Jo, Lily, Arabelle, Jozie, Aspyn, & Oakley; two sisters, Sharan Koenig of Bismarck, & Shirlee (Butch) Kuhn of Harvey, ND; two brothers, Gary (Daphne) Gentz of Georgetown, TX, & Rande Goetz of Krum, TX; and many nieces & nephews who were very special to him.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Lynn (Gentz) Schulz.
