Irene Lee, age 87 of Mandan, formerly of Riverdale, ND, died Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 at the Medcenter One Mandan Living Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church in Underwood with Father Charlie Heidt as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the church with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service.

Irene was born April 6, 1925 in Stephen, MN to William & Anna (Sczcpanski) Kostrzewski. She attended rural grade school near Stephen for several years. Irene married Glen Lee on August 24, 1949 in Crookston, MN. They moved to Riverdale, ND in 1956 where Glen was employed with the U.S. Corps of Engineers. Irene was an avid gardener. She enjoyed making jams and jellies and canning her garden produce. Following Glen's death in 1989, Irene continued to make her home in Riverdale until 2009 when she became a resident of the Mandan Living Center.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Lee of Wilton, ND; one son, Kenneth (Jan) of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren, Michael & Matthew Lee; five great-grandchildren, Gabby, Reece, Christian, Jordyn, & Mya; and one sister, Sister Bernadette Kostrzewski of Crookston, MN.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers (Dominic, Andrew, George, Roman, & John), & three sisters (Marian, Emily, & Delores).
