Helga E. Thrailkill, age 90 of Cortez, CO, formerly of Washburn, ND, died February 17, 2006 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home in Mancos, CO.

Helga was born May 3, 1915 at Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Christ & Agatha (Bjort) Christensen. She was reared in the Basto community, near Underwood, ND, and was a former member of the Birka Lutheran Church. Helga married Lester R. Thrailkill on June 14, 1934 at Underwood. They farmed in the local area until the early 1950's. Helga then enjoyed another aspect of her life, which was in home decorating. She worked in the Bismarck area and eventually moved to Bellevue, WA where she worked for many years, ending her career in 1985 at the age of 70. Helga then moved to Cortez, CO where she spent the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her two sons, Myron D. Thrailkill and Leland L. (Eva) Thrailkill of Cortez, CO; & two grandchildren, Jeffrey & Tracy Thrailkill.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband (Lester Thrailkill),
son (Gary R. Thrailkill), four brothers (Lars, Jens, Art, & Clarence Christensen), &
two sisters (Nora Persinger & Mabel Lorentzen).
