Helen was born March 18, 1911 at Turtle Lake, ND the daughter to John Sr. & Christiana (Ehni) Schock. She was raised on the family farm northeast of Turtle Lake and attended rural school. She married Jacob Fueller on April 7, 1935 at Turtle Lake and they farmed northeast of Turtle Lake for many years. In 1957, they moved into Turtle Lake where she was employed with Borth's Department Store for many years. Her husband Jake passed away in 1968. Helen married Fred Fischer on February 12, 1971 and they enjoyed their retirement years living in Turtle Lake. Fred passed way in 1985. Helen spent much of her time making quilts and doilies. She crocheted hundreds of baby sweaters for mission work of the church. Every member of her family was blessed with the beautiful work of her precious hands. The greatest gift she left her family was her abundant love and demonstration of her faith in the Lord. She was a prayer warrior, and her "worn out" Bible proves the time spent with her Lord and Savior. She is remembered for her sweet spirit and was considered the family's "best cook". Her first 5th generation great - great granddaughter (Madison "Helen" Mittleider) was named in honor of her. Helen was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was involved in many church activities. Helen sustained a beautiful "servant" heart all her life, from the days she helped her parents with farm chores and raised her younger siblings, to the time she entered the swing bed unit five years ago.
She is survived by 3 sons: Marvin Fueller of Turtle Lake, Wilbert (Alvina) Fueller of Bismarck, & Delvin (Cinda) Fueller of Post Falls, ID; 13 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; son-in-law: Monty Zingg of Turtle Lake; 3 step-sons: Darvin (Ella) Fischer of Turtle Lake, Wilbur (Anita) Fischer of Warrensburg, MO, Myron (Beverly) Fischer of Bismarck; 2 step-daughters: Delma Kost of Martin, ND & Doris Fischer of McClusky; 3 brothers: Dan Schock of Hemet, CA, Emil (Verna) Schock of Velva, & Reinhold (Clara) Schock of Turtle Lake; 1 sister: Emma (George) Whitaker of San Gabriel, CA; many nieces & nephews
