Obituary

Helen Field, age 90 of Minot, formerly of Turtle Lake, ND, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17 at the Trinity Home in Minot, in the loving care of her daughters.

Funeral Services: 2:00 PM Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church - rural Turtle Lake, ND;

Interment: East Crooked Lake Cemetery - rural Turtle Lake, ND;

Visitation: 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM Saturday at Goetz Funeral Home - Turtle Lake;
Sunday, 1 hour prior to time of service at the church.

Helen was born June 18, 1916 at rural Washburn, ND the daughter to Henry & Emma (Giedd) Pudwill. She attended rural school east of Washburn until the 8th Grade and was baptized at the Washburn Baptist Church as an adolescent. Helen married William H. Field on October 31, 1943 at the United Methodist Church in Washburn. They made their home on a farm ten miles north of Turtle Lake, ND. Helen & Bill were members of the East Crooked Lake Lutheran Church for many years. Following the closing of the church, they became members of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Bill passed away on June 26, 1997. In the fall of 1997, she moved to an apartment in Turtle Lake where she lived for several years. Helen loved to quilt, making hundreds of quilts for her family and various mission groups. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, photography, and historical scrap-booking. Helen is remembered as an excellent seamstress and caregiver, providing loving care to family and friends throughout her years. In April 2005, Helen moved to the Brentmoor Assisted Living Center in Minot. She became a resident of the Trinity Homes of Minot in July 2005. Her greatest love was family, and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon (Dennis) Hanson of Turtle Lake, ND, & Sandra (Arland) Geiszler of Rugby, ND; 3 grandchildren, Kirk (Sharon) Hanson of Fargo, ND, Nikki (Scott) Wahlberg of Minot, ND, & Shelly (Craig) Giroux of Minot, ND; 3 step-grandchildren, Cory (Sheri) Geiszler of Grand Forks, ND, Heather (Kurt) Skari of Fargo, ND, & Megan Geiszler of Grand Forks, ND; 6 great-grandchildren, Ashley Fredericks, Mason Wahlberg, Gage & Parker Hanson, Tyler & Hunter Giroux; 2 step-great grandchildren, Rylee Geiszler & Kaleb Skari; 1 sister, Elda Davidson of Garden Grove, CA; 2 sisters-in-law, Edna Pudwill of Oregon City, OR, & Margaret Peterson of Devils Lake, ND; 1 brother-in-law, Morris Field of Stockton, CA; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (William), 5 brothers and sisters-in-law (Helmuth Pudwill and wives Grace & Violet, Harold Pudwill, Albert Pudwill, Rayburn Pudwill, Ernest Pudwill and wife Gunda); & 1 sister and brother-in-law (Goldie Athanacio and husband Tony)
