Harley D. Kienzle, 73, of Ft. Morgan, CO, died February 3, 2020 at his home in Colorado. Cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held in Steele in the spring.
Harley was born on May 12, 1946 near Streeter, ND, the son of Ludwig and Martha (Albrecht) Kienzle. He moved to Steele, ND with his mother and siblings after his father passed away. Harley grew up in Steele attending Steele Public School. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
After school, Harley headed west seeking employment. He married Georgia Ekwortzel while working in Washington. The marriage produced 2 sons, Gregory and Douglas. After divorcing in the late 70's, Harley worked as a carpenter and millwright which took him all over the United States. He finally found a place to call home in Ft. Morgan. Colorado where he settled and enjoyed his retirement. Harley loved going to auctions and sales. There he would buy bargains and repair or recycle them to be sold again. He also enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors.
He is survived by his sons: Greg and his wife Kristen and their children, Abigail and Anikah of Spokane, WA and Doug and his wife Sara and their children, Owen, Noelle and Caleb of Portland, OR. He also leaves two brothers: Gary and Linda Kienzle of Washburn and Ron Kienzle of Bismarck, a brother-in-law, Vern Unrath of Bismarck and several nieces and nephews.
Harley was preceded on death by his parents, sister, DeLoris Unrath and an infant brother Wilbert.
Memorials preferred to Woodlawn Cemetery, Steele, ND.
