Obituary

H. Kenneth Tweeten, age 87 of Washburn, ND, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood, ND.

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Thursday, May 10, 2007;
Washburn Baptist Church - Washburn, ND;
Rev. Rick Torkelson, Officiating;

Interment: Riverview Cemetery - Washburn, ND;

Visitation: 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM Wednesday at Goetz Funeral Home - Washburn;
Thursday, one hour prior to time of service at the church

Harold Kenneth Tweeten was born December 29, 1919 at Washburn, ND, the son of
John B. & Edith C. (Johnson) Tweeten. He was raised on his parents farm north of Washburn and attended rural school. He married Martha M. Mehrer on September 8, 1941 at Glendive, MT. They made their home on the family farm north of Washburn where they farmed and ranched for forty-nine years. Kenneth and Martha moved into Washburn in October 1990. Kenneth enjoyed woodcarving and held a true passion for horses. He also enjoyed collecting scale-model farm equipment and hand tools. He was a member of the Washburn Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He became a resident of the Prairieview Nursing Home in November 2004.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha M. Tweeten of Washburn, ND;
two daughters, Jeannette (Duane) Wagner of Bismarck, ND, and Pastor Karen (Pastor Bruce) Wheeler of Bloomington, IN; two sons, John (Debbie) Tweeten of Mesa, AZ, and Harold (Roxy) Tweeten of Washburn, ND; one brother, Lester Tweeten of Turtle Lake, ND; sixteen grandchildren, Barb Schank, Robert Wagner, Tracy Driscoll, Kathy Morris, Jeannie Tweeten, Ashley Tweeten, Paul Haas, Robert Haas, Jason Wheeler, Ryan Wheeler, Derek Wheeler, Daina Tweeten, Lacey Tweeten, Hope Tweeten, Scarlett Tweeten, & Courtney Tweeten; and thirteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son (Robert Tweeten), & two brothers (Oliver & Ernest Tweeten).
