Goldie Audrey (Lakoduk) Walcker, age 68 of Garden City, KS, formerly of Turtle Lake, ND, passed from this life on July 9, 2011 with family and friends at her side. She passed away in Amarillo, TX following a long illness.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 15th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake with Pastor Betty J. Stedman officiating. Interment will follow at the Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Goldie was born on May 20, 1943 in Minot, ND to Jack and Susan (Schwartz) Lakoduk of Butte, ND. Goldie lived in Butte, ND with her family until 1951when they moved to Turtle Lake, ND. Goldie graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1961. After graduation, she moved to Bismarck to work for Quain and Ramstad Clinic as a receptionist. In 1962, she married Glen Blotter of Turtle Lake and the first of her three children, Paul, was born. In 1963, Glen was killed in an automobile accident. In 1965, she married Virgil Walcker of Turtle Lake and gave birth to two more children, Chad and Susie. Goldie and Virgil lived in Turtle Lake until 1982 when Virgil's work took them to Garden City, Kansas, where they lived until the present. Goldie's magnetic personality that drew everyone to her (she never knew a stranger) will be greatly missed.

Goldie is survived by her husband, Virgil; her sons and daughters in-law, Paul and Joan Walcker of Turtle Lake, & Chad and Frana Walcker of Beulah; daughter and son in-law, Susie and Mark Hewes of Amarillo, Texas; four brothers, Jack (Jackie) Lakoduk of Hudson FL, Lester (Linda) Lakoduk of Vancouver, WA, Craig (Enid) Lakoduk of Turtle Lake, & David (Teresa) Lakoduk of Underwood; one sister, Sharon Lakoduk of Turtle Lake; 7 grandchildren, Derran Walcker, Casey Walcker, Erin Walcker, Allison Walcker, Jacob Hewes, Peyton Hewes, and Ava Hewes; very special friends, Curt, Mike, Tim, & Richard Burns of Garden City, KS; honorary grandsons, Dylan & KJ Burns of Garden City, KS; brothers in-law, Fred Walcker of Billings, MT, & Jack Walcker of Turtle Lake; sisters-in-law, Elsie Sellon of Turtle Lake, Leona Urban of Chula Vista, CA, Birtha Holberg of LaCrosse, WI, Mary Seidler of Garrison, ND, Helen Smith of Chula Vista, CA, Freda Voth and Dee Walcker both of Turtle Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Mavis (Lakoduk) Tierney.
