Gloris Singer, age 71 of Turtle Lake, ND died Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Turtle Lake Community Memorial Hospital.

Gloris was born August 11, 1934 at Benedict, ND the daughter of Gideon & Pauline (Blotter) Ketterling. She attended the Medicine Hill #3 rural grade school and graduated from Mercer High School in 1952. She married Mervyn Singer in June 1952. Gloris owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Stanley, ND for several years. She was employed for many years as a loan officer for the Midwest Federal Savings & Loan Bank in Minot. Gloris was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church of Minot and served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, camping, cooking, and collecting pig memorabilia. She is remembered for being a tremendous host to everyone that visited her. Gloris moved to Turtle Lake, ND in 2000. She became a resident of the Community Memorial Hospital swing-bed unit in April 2006.
She is survived by her very special friend, Emil Schmidt of Turtle Lake, ND; 2 Sisters, Janice Geigle of Turtle Lake, ND & Marliss Olson of Granite Falls, WA; 1 Brother, Roger (Dayle) Ketterling of Mercer, ND; & many Nieces, Nephews, and God-Children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons (Brian & Terry), & 1 sister (Joyce).
