Georgine T. Gullickson, age 89, a long time resident of Underwood, ND, went to be with the Lord on October 24th, 2010. She passed away at the Bethany Retirement Living Center in Fargo, ND.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, Oct. 30th at Augustana Lutheran Church in Underwood with Pastor Joel Sherer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Underwood City Cemetery.
Georgine was born Jan. 11, 1921 to William and Pauline (Erickson) Reitman in rural Greatstone Township near Coleharbor, ND. She was raised on the family farm, attended rural school, and participated in many of the family farm responsibilities.
Georgine and her sister, Ethel, worked at the Underwood Hotel prior to her July 7th, 1940 marriage to Arthur Gullickson near Coleharbor. She spent many years traveling with Arthur as he followed a career in construction prior to his 1983 retirement. Georgine was a very devoted wife and mother of four children. She held many varied interests including artistic oil painting, playing cards, gardening, fishing, and playing the piano. She sewed many quilts at home and at church for the benefit of the needy overseas. Georgine especially enjoyed Bible studies and her association with the women's group at Augustana Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one son, Allan (Susan) Gullickson of Sioux Falls, SD; three daughters, Annette (Wayne) Bauer of Fargo, ND, Carolyn (Marlow) Bakken of Duluth, MN, & Lela Dluzen of Fargo, ND; 9 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, & 3 great-great grandchildren; two sisters; Delores (Glen) Schoonover of Mandan, ND, & Luella Fast of Garrison, ND; sisters-in-law; Rossella Sundbakken, Bernie Kittleson, Lillie Gullickson, Muriel Berg, Eunice Farstad, & Alice Tibke; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Georgine was preceded in death by her husband (Arthur), her parents, one brother & sister-in-law (Harold & Verona Reitman) five sisters & brothers-in-law (Lillian & Ole Kinn, Evelyn & Emil Blotter, Violet & Lester Westman, Ethel & Clarence Swanson, Bernice & Emil Schauer), one grandson (William A. Gullickson), and a son-in-law (Wayne Dluzen).
Georgine will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
