Gene G. Feldman, 88, Washburn, ND died August 18, 2021 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND.  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Washburn United Methodist Church with Pastor Annie Carlson officiating.   Interment will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND with military honors.  The memorial service will be livestreamed at the bottom of the obituary on Wednesday.

Gene was born May 4, 1933 in Robinson, ND the son of Gilbert and May (Neustel) Feldman.  He was raised and educated in Robinson.  Gene served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1956.  He then returned to North Dakota and married Arlys Rohr and they later divorced.  Gene worked in North Dakota, Montana and Oregon where he had various occupations.  He married his second wife, Lavina Fejes in Portland, OR.  In Oregon, Gene worked for the Trane Company, which manufactures air conditioners.  He retired and moved back to North Dakota.  During retirement, Gene enjoyed working in his welding shop and woodworking.

He will always be remembered for his friendly and gentle demeanor.  Gene was very outgoing and enjoyed visiting with everyone.  Gene was a member of the Washburn American Legion and Washburn United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (John) Matajcich of Gallup. NM; his son, Steven Feldman of Portland, OR; his 5 grandchildren; his 15 great grandchildren and his sisters, Yvonne Peyer of Washburn and Joy (Bill) Vogel of LaFarge, WI and many nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lavina; his son, Laverne and a grandson, Vern Jr.
