Gary D. Hofer, age 46 of Bismarck, ND, formerly of Turtle Lake, ND, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at a Rochester, MN hospital.

Gary Dean Hofer was born May 4, 1960 at Turtle Lake, ND the son to Ahart & Carol (Hallan) Hofer. He was reared on the family farm near Turtle Lake and graduated from Turtle Lake-Mercer High School in 1978. He continued his education at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton graduating with an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering.. Gary worked as a certified mechanic for Olien Auto & Implement in Mott, ND for many years and at RDO Equipment Co. in Washburn, ND. He most recently was employed as a route carrier for the Bismarck Tribune. Gary enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Audrey (Daniel) Habersham of Denton, TX, & Bernadine (Craig) Trehus of Bismarck, ND; 1 brother, James Hofer of Menoken, ND; 7 nieces and nephews, LaShana Hicks, Jessica Habersham, Michael Habersham, Tanner Hofer, Sonya Trehus, Sandy Trehus, & C.J. Trehus; aunt and uncles, Betty Huelsman, Dale Hallan, & Dean (Vee) Hallan; many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents (Ahart & Carol Hofer), 1 brother (Vincent John Hofer), grandparents (Bernhard & Bertha Hofer, Axel & Alice Hallan), & 2 uncles (Harland Hofer & Allen Huelsman).
